Saturday Morning Cartoons

So today I was floating around the interweb and stumbled across the old cartoon The Weekenders.

So this got me thinking about all the old cartoons I used to wake up early to watch on a Saturday morning when I was little. So then I found PB&J Otter.

And Pepper Ann.

Just to name a few =)

Gaga in Wonderland

Another quick post:

Animationing

An interesting find - It's a live action shot by shot short from A Goofy Movie.
Here's some more details:
''A Goofy Movie begins with Max Goof on his way to the last day of school, and if all goes right his life will change. Turning cartoon into real life, this animated to live-action short adaptation was created for under $100 over the course of six months with a borrowed camera, over 90 supportive friends and family, and Final Cut Studio.''

Last week we did some colour scripts in class. Here are the colour scripts from UP by Lou Ramano.

For more colour script images here is his blog:

Reverse Garbage Exploration

Today our group went to Reverse Garbage to take some landscape shots for our stop-mo piece. I've almost finished making the character (an elephant) the legs are just pinned on till we figure out how to fully animate his legs.

We then went back to class and tried manipulating some of the photos, going for a more cartoony, hand-drawn, different look. So here's some of the experiments from today's class.

Blogging on a Tuesday night =)

Hello!
I stumbled across this program last night called Motion Picture and found it super interesting (for all the animators out there!) http://www.motionportrait.com/e/
Ok so basically Motion Picture is a simple animation program. You take a photo of a person and the program creates a 3D model of it and that model can then be animated.

This animation can be used on the web, animations, and games.  You can also change the model in the animation, with different, hairstyles, backgrounds, outfits, eye colour etc.

It looks like a nifty program, but does have some limitations.
=)
