Music Video Inspiration

So I am starting to think about what I can do for my music video assessment next term and I think I have decided on my song. (One by Gregory and the Hawk). But I would love to do it in a really simple and lovely style. And a while ago I found this music video, animated by Alessandra Sorrentino (who has worked on 'The Secret of Kells' and 'Skunk Fu' as well as many other moveis and tv shows. I love this music video for the simplicity of the story and animation. It's absolutely adorable!

Here is my playblast for the Matte Painting assessment. I was originally going to do a cube, but that failed slightly with the perspective images I had already done. So here we go!

Kuky se vraci

An interesting upcoming movie that combines live action and puppetry. It looks super interesting. The story is about a teddy bear, called Kooky,  that is thrown away by his six-year-old owner. The bear comes to life in the rubbish dump and makes his way to a mysterious forest, where he meets the forest's guardian.

I did some looking around and found some of the storyboard art for the movie on Facebook. 

The pictures are simple. But you can tell what's happening in each of them.

This short film is brilliant! Technically animation...? It does make drawings move.

The Pixar Online Library has some interesting notes on animation. The articulating appeal one is interesting. It explains how Pixar went about creating the rat characters in Ratatouille.

I'm starting to get super excited for Toy Story 3! Coming out in June.
